Event description
Lisbon 2020 – the next Khoja Leadership Summit

About this Event

Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslims – known as the Khoja community – number 125,000 people worldwide who

include some of the faith’s highest achievers. The community’s business acumen means members have been

disproportionately successful. They include founders of two of Africa’s few $1 billion businesses, multi-millionaire

entrepreneurs from around the globe, acclaimed industrialists, doctors, lawyers, philanthropists and former

Ministers.

Many of its leading names are members of the Khoja Leadership Forum (KLF), which will be holding its second Khoja

Business Leaders’ Summit in Lisbon on 3-5 July 2020.

A mission to serve

Central to the Khoja faith is “giving back” and the community excels in philanthropy.

The Davos Accord

At its first summit in Davos, Switzerland, in 2017, the KLF created a new kind of philanthropy, enshrined in its Davos

Accord, and adopted United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on productivity, slavery and labour rights. As a result, the Davos Accord was presented at the UN in 2018. https://www.khojaleadershipforum.org Examples of actions taken since Davos include:

• $2 million raised for a business loans scheme proven to lift families out of poverty.

• Initiatives empowering women and girls with IT skills to uplift whole communities.

• Free education for over 20,000 children worldwide with a focus in 2020 on quality.

Lisbon 2020 – the next Khoja Leadership Summit

This will be a hugely galvanising, inspiring event for better business and better philanthropy. VIP attendees

including billionaire business people, politicians and humanitarians will launch poverty eradication initiatives, hold a live charity auction and sign a historic Lisbon Accord.
