About this Event

The Kavli Institute for Cosmology, Cambridge (KICC) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and is marking this with a series of events. From 16th to 20th of September 2019 a major scientific symposium is taking place at KICC entitled "Cosmology: the end of the beginning. Future prospects in cosmology, large scale structure and galaxy formation" attended by 150 international experts. As a part of this event on September 17th at 7pm at the Lady Mitchell Hall there will be a public talk delivered by three world leading astrophysicists: Lord Martin Rees (Cambridge), Prof Roger Blandford (Stanford) and Prof David Spergel (Princeton). The lectures will address some of the most fundamental questions and pressing problems of modern astrophysics including: "How did the Universe begin?" "What is it's fate?" "Is there life out there?" "What are black holes and gravitational waves?" "Do we need new physics?" with a Q&A session afterwards.
