Kickstart Briefing for Portsmouth Employers & Businesses
Event Information
About this Event
Earlier this year, the Government launched the Kickstart Scheme, a programme designed to help young people get into work. The scheme offers government funding to any employer, to enable them to create 6-month long work placements for 16-24 year olds currently in receipt of Universal Credit.
Shaping Portsmouth have partnered with Portsmouth City Council to make this scheme accessible to as many Portsmouth Employers as possible. A programme like this may seem daunting to a lot of employers, especially small businesses, so we are running two free-to-access online seminars to give you all the information you need to decide if a Kickstart placement is right for your business.
This one-hour seminar will include briefings from the Department for Work & Pensions, Portsmouth City Council and Shaping Portsmouth, which will explain how the scheme works, explore the potential benefits for your business and answer any questions you might have. There will also be the opportunity to learn about the training and development support being offered by the city's colleges for Kickstart employers.
