Event description
Want to crowdfund? Meet the creatives who've done it and connect over drinks with Kickstarter PBC and Words of Colour at the Watershed.

About this Event

Join Gemma Seltzer from Kickstarter PBC, Joy Francis and Heather Marks from Words of Colour and Bristol’s finest artists and makers for drinks at Watershed.

We’ve seen the artistic community in Bristol create so many ambitious, innovative, and imaginative books, comics, films, albums, prints and more using Kickstarter. And Words of Colour, a creative communications and production agency who are now based in Bristol, want to say hello!

This is a moment to celebrate the creativity in Bristol and a chance to gather together some of the city’s brightest and most exciting women and non-binary creatives.

Expect a vibrant evening, including short presentations from Kickstarter PBC and Words of Colour about the ways both organisations help artists bring creative projects to life. We’re looking forward to welcoming you all, and offering the opportunity to meet, talk and share ideas with fellow artists.

This event is presented in partnership with Watershed.

Kickstarter is where creative projects come to life — everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Since its launch in 2009, 16 million people have pledged $4.2 billion on Kickstarter, funding more than 160,000 projects. Kickstarter is a Public Benefit Company committed to supporting creative communities, fighting inequality, protecting our environment, and championing arts and culture.

Words of Colour is a social enterprise committed to facilitating and inspiring creatives of colour to fully express their authentic selves, developing new, inclusive models of creativity, entrepreneurship and wellbeing to allow their voices and ideas to shine – and be heard. Since its founding in 2006, Words of Colour has been part of many significant industry initiatives - most recently Twenty in 2020 and Writing the Future - which have championed inclusion and writers of colour at all stages of their career.
