In this session Lucy will guide the students through drawing their own versions of Miró's 'Woman and Bird in The Moonlight' painted in 1949. Using soft pastels we will be copying Miró's style of creating his bold imagery with black lines and bright blocks of colour.
Miró was a Spanish artist who's paintings were filled with characters, animals and organic forms, all drawn in his loose and joyful style and accompanied by many symbols of the natural world.
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED:
-1 x sheet of paper (at least A4 size and can be a pale colour or light brown)
-A Black Pen (a thick felt tip pen, marker or poster pen
-felt tip pens (red, blue and green)
-Soft Pastels (a set of multiple colours)
*Pastels are preferable but colouring in pencils or pens are fine to use as well.
Donation:
For September, October and November LDGKids will be donating 20% of profits from each class to the charity 'The Childrens Literacy Charity'. They are a small UK based charity with a big impact, working to close the literacy gap for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Working in primary and secondary schools in areas of deprivation, expert tutors seek to unlock the potential of children who can be up to two years behind where they should be, not just with reading but with all the important literacy skills: writing, comprehension, listening and speaking.
