Spending time in nature helps kids feel more connected, helps them stay grounded and appreciate the natural areas both in their community and around the globe.

OUR GARDEN CLUB AIMS

TO INSPIRE LOVE FOR NATURE, ENGAGE IMAGINATION AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CREATIVITY THROUGH NATURE CRAFT PROJECTS.

The garden activities help children to develop different skills ( Physical, cognitive, Social) Improve environmental awarenes, healthy eating and imporive their physical and mental health. Also helps with the Curriculum enrichment in;

Science: learn about plants and nature

Math: develop numeracy skills

Literacy: learning different plant and flowers words

Art: develop arts and crafts skills

Each session will be a combination of hands on experience in the garden and nature inspired arts and crafts

Children will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty, sowing seeds, observing the germination process and watching them spout into beautiful plants.

They will dive into different garden topics such as soil preparation, plant observation and care, fertilising, composting, weeding, pinching and pruning.

We will also provide opportunities for creativity through arts and craft projects insipred by nature , such as creating seed clay balls, natural paint brushes , nesting dispensers, bird feeders, paper lanterns and different crafts with pressed flowers

Our Kids Gardening club offers fantastic platform for children to explore , learn and grow.

This is a six week Garden Club, we will run two sessions available for homeschooling families and as an afterschool club.

DONATIONS /PAY IT FORWARD

We are asking for donations towards the booking as we would like to run a "Pay it forward" system with a minimum £8per child, however if you are able to, you can donate more . The "Pay It Forward" system encourages individuals to perform acts of kindness for others, creating a chain reaction of goodwill and generosity. Enabling those who would not normally be able to send their children to such activities, to participate.

As such, refunds will not be issued if you wish to cancel your child's place. Your generous donation will enable a family who are less financially able to attend activities at Clitterhouse Farm.

Frequently asked questions

What age is this workshop suitable for?

The suggested age is 4+ however, younger children can participate with an accompanying adult. Parents of children aged 4+ can enjoy some coffee and cake from our lovely shop and collect the children after the club session.
