Kids' Learn to Ride - Beginners - WAKEFIELD
Summer's just around the corner so come and learn how to ride your bike in time for all those summer bike riding adventures!
Fun, relaxed lessons for children who'd like to learn how to ride their bike without stabilisers. This session is for those who can't ride at all or who are still very wobbly when trying to ride without support. A great session to get children ready for a year of exciting cycling!
Open to ages 4 - 11 and group sizes will be kept small, so everyone gets the maximum benefit from the session.
You'll need to bring along your child's pedal bike (without stabilisers). Helmets and balance bikes for practice will be provided. Please let us know if your child's bike is unsuitable when booking and they can borrow one of our's.
It's up to you whether you stay at the session or not. From past experience however, we find that children tend to make better progress when parents don't stay.
Cost: £7 / child
After booking, you'll receive an info form with more details about the session and be asked to fill in some details. Please read through all this carefully. Please feel free to contact us in the meantime with any questions - firstname.lastname@example.org
All Cycle North sessions are led by our fully qualified and experienced National Standards cycling instructors.
"Just wanted to say a massive thank you for my son's learn to ride session yesterday. He came back from his lesson full of confidence and we have spent all weekend cycling in the park. He absolutely loves it!".
"I was blown away by how quickly my daughter got riding! She's always struggled with her balancing, so the balance bikes really helped. The look of pride on her face at the end was lovely. Huge thanks to your fantastic instructor team!"
Cycle North is the partner organisation to Cycle Leeds, who has been running Learn to Ride sessions for children during the school holidays for the past 3 years throughout Leeds with great success. Due to demand for these sessions we're now expanding and, under the Cycle North banner, will be running sessions at a fantastic new cycling facility in Wakefield.
The BKCAT Closed Cycle Circuit, based at St Thomas a Becket High School, opened at the beginning of the school year. It's a 1.1km fully off road track, nice and wide, with smooth tarmac - perfect for teaching children how to ride their bikes! Being at the track is also a great incentive for them to continue their cycling development.
