Chess, like other strategy games is ideal for young people as it enables them to put into action learning, strategies and ideas and build on the results.
Our aim with the Chess Club is to support children in building today the skills that will allow them to thrive in society and develop technique that will help them maintain a positive mental health.
We endeavour to create a safe and caring environment where, under the guise of playing chess, the children will be challenged, often more emotionally than intellectually, and forge essential skills for their short-, medium- and long-term future.
Since the course has been set up, we have been working, hand in hand with the parents to supporting their children in overcoming their perfectionism; building perseverance in the face of adversity; improving their social skills and many more essentiel skills.
This Taster session has been set up for children to get an idea of what each chess club session will be like; who we are; how we will be interacting with one another during the sessions and what the kids can expect from attending the club; and to answer any questions, you the parent may have.

The clubs are set up in parallel to the academic calendar with 5 sessions per half-term. Booking and payments are made on the basis of 1 full term (i.e. 10 sessions) at a time.
The price per session is £19.00.
We are a small organisation and pride ourselves in the individual relationships with create with the families that join us. Please be mindeful that if you cannot attend the session you have registered for, you let us know so that we can open the place to others.
