Kids will discover how sashiko can turn old clothes into beautiful, functional art while developing patience, focus, and creativity.
What Kids Will Do
- Learn simple sashiko stitches
- Explore fun patterns like stars, hearts, and geometric shapes
- Patch or decorate denim, cotton, or sturdy t-shirts (no thin fabrics)
- Use kimono scrap fabrics to add texture and style
- Take home a personalized, upcycled garment
Workshop Details
- Duration: 1.5 hours
- All tools and decorative materials provided; kids to bring their own clothing or bags to mend/decorate (denim, cotton, or sturdy t-shirts; no thin fabrics or polyester)
