About this event
Kindness into Action Masterclass
NHS England and NHS Improvement Civility and Respect programme brings you a Kindness into Action masterclass to create and sustain kinder cultures in the NHS.
Kinder cultures lead to safer care and better outcomes. This masterclass supports the NHS People Plan and People Promise, and is recommended for Boards, Executives and senior leaders, across all clinical and non-clinical roles, in Health and Social Care. You will explore the evidence, practice kinder leadership and learn lessons from the front-line of kinder culture change.

Kindness into Action - agenda
Practical, interactive, evidence-based, 3-hour online workshop
- Why kindness: the evidence behind kinder cultures
- Promoting kindness: more good days at work in healthcare
- Tackling rudeness: fewer bad days at work in healthcare
- A speak up culture: empowering people to speak up safely
- Values into action: sustaining change through people processes
- Be the change: practical ways to add kindness to your leadership
The masterclass will be led by Tim Keogh, of A Kind Life. Over the past 10 years Tim has supported more than 50 healthcare organisations to nurture and sustain kinder, safer cultures. At pace and at scale. Along the way he’s learned and will share in the workshop, what works, as well as what doesn’t work, in shaping kinder cultures in healthcare. You’ll also get to hear stories, evidence and examples from other leaders in the kindness and civility movement
Sample participant feedback
“I have never taken much notice of what our values are and how we implement and stick to them. This helped me to understand why they are important and what they mean.”
“An overwhelmingly positive experience. Lots of learning to take back.”
“I came in sceptical and left motivated, feeling positive and encouraged.”
“I thought I was coming to another ‘tree hugging, I promise to be nice’ session. I was wrong. This has been life-changing for me. This has given me the tools and skills I need to change both professionally and personally. I am ready for change.”
“The best course ever in the NHS.”
