King Of The Trees - Auditions - Ages 13 - 17 Year Olds

We’re excited to announce that Oldham Theatre Workshop and Oldham Coliseum Theatre's educational team ‘OPAN’ will be hosting a Secondary Schools Theatre Festival in February 2026!

As part of the festival line up, Oldham Theatre Workshop will be submitting their own performance of this year’s festival play King Of The Trees.

We're looking for exceptional, dynamic, and energetic performers aged 13 - 17 to join the cast.

This is a fantastic opportunity for performers who are taking their craft seriously and who are wanting to hone their skills as actors.

The Auditions

The audition will be a friendly, workshop style audition, which will include Movement, Voice and Acting.

You do not need to prepare anything for this audition.

Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be expected to take part, freely in physical activity.

We want to create a company where everyone feels valued regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances. Therefore, we actively encourage people with different backgrounds to join us.

Production Information

Performances will take place on Monday 2nd & Friday 6th February 2026.

Working with the OTW team you will create a version of the new play that will be performed in our state-of-the-art studio.

The production week will include a tech and dress rehearsal as well as performances on

• Saturday 31st January 2026 - Technical Rehearsal
• Sunday 1st February 2026 - Dress Rehearsal
• Monday 2nd February 2026 – Performance 1
• Friday 6th February 2026 – Performance 2

Please note; if you are NOT available for the dates above, you will sadly not be able to take part in the production.

If you have a holiday book in the run up to the performance, please speak with the OTW team before booking your audition.

Rehearsal Information

Pre rehearsal readthrough - Monday 15th December - 5pm - 9pm (an opportunity for the cast to meet before the Christmas holidays).

Weekly rehearsals will take place at OTW on Monday evenings 5pm - 9pm and Saturdays 10am - 3pm as of Monday 5th January 2026.

Production Fees:

This is a funded opportunity, so it is FREE for young people to participate in this production.

Successful cast members would need to be committed to attending every rehearsal and performance.
