Description

We have great pleasure in inviting you to join us for the Dental Alumni Weekend 2019: two days of top quality continuing professional development alongside opportunities for alumni, staff and friends of the Faculty to get together to reminisce about the good old days and to look forward to the exciting days ahead.

Dental Alumni Weekend 2019 will begin on the afternoon of Friday 1 March with the John McLean Symposium featuring national and international speakers sharing their “20/20” Vision of Restorative Dentistry as well as the Hygienists’ and Therapists’ Specialist Section Meeting. These will be followed by the SPS Staff and Alumni Drinks Reception and Annual Dental Dinner, hosted once again in the Robens Suite at the top of Guy’s Tower. Enjoy the spectacular views of London at night whilst indulging in a glass of champagne followed by the three course dinner. The dress code is Black Tie (optional), with guests and partners warmly welcome to join us.

Dental Alumni Weekend continues with our Clinical Open Day on Saturday 2 March in Guy’s Tower. This year’s programme includes the Keynote lectures in memory of Professor Rod Cawson and Professor Walter Herbert, an opportunity to hear about our exciting newly re-structured ‘faculty’ from our Executive Dean, Professor Mike Curtis, and Professor David Bartlett, tours of recently re-furbished clinical teaching facilities displaying recent clinical and research posters, as well as our ever popular Hands-on Workshops. The Dental Alumni Association will also be holding its Annual General Meeting to which all alumni are invited.

Lunch will again be hosted by our Executive Dean, providing guests with an opportunity to meet Professor Curtis, whilst networking and socialising with fellow alumni and staff.

The Dinner provides a perfect opportunity for a class reunion table or tables, particularly those of you celebrating your 50th, 40th, 30th, 20th or 10th anniversaries. The Alumni Office will be delighted to help and support your reunion and will provide special touches to ensure you have a night to remember. Simply e-mail reunions@kcl.ac.uk or call +44(0)20 7848 3053 to get the ball rolling.

The programme for the Dental Alumni Weekend is flexible; you can book for a single event or the whole weekend. To find out more please see the full programme below; if you have any questions about the event please contact the Executive Dean’s Office at juliet.ellwood@kcl.ac.uk or +44(0)20 7188 1164.

Please note the event programme does not make a profit: all events are either priced to break even or are subsidised.
