About this event

Community • City & Town

Centred around two repurposed 19th-century railway stations and once derelict railway lands, King’s Cross St Pancras now covers over 67 acres of residential, office, leisure and learning buildings. The £3 billion masterplan, designed by Allies and Morrison and Porphyrios Architects and led by developer Argent, hosts the business hub, Pancras Square, on an old gasworks site where new office buildings designed by David Chipperfield, Eric Parry, and Bennetts will soon be joined by Heatherwick/BIG designed Google headquarters due to complete by 2023.

Starting at ‘The Meeting’ statue and ending at the station, the tour explores landmarks such as the Granary Building, which houses Central St Martins School of Art (Stanton Williams) in its old transit shed, the re-purposed Coal Drops Yard (Heatherwick Studios), the reworked Victorian Coal and Fish Offices (David Morley Architect) and Wilkinson Eyre’s Gasholder apartments and Bell Phillips’ Gasholder Park.

Looking ahead to the future of the £3 billion masterplan (Allies and Morrison, Porphyrios Architects and Argent), we’ll also take a peek at the latest projects in the area, such as the soon to be completed Google headquarters (Heatherwick/BIG). Join us for this exciting tour exploring the past, present and future!
