Event description

Description

King's Staff Plays Inaugral Production: 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose. A gender neutral production.

London, Summer 2025: The Old Bailey. A man is dead. The life of another is at stake.

A "guilty" verdict seems a forgone conclusion. But one member of the jury has the will to probe more deeply into the evidence and the courage to confront the ignorance and prejudice of some of his fellow jurors. The conflict which follows is fierce and passionate, cutting straight to the heart of the issues of civil liberties and social justice.

The King's Staff Plays gender neutral production sets the play in post-Brexit Britain, with the dealth penalty back on the statute books. The men and women of the jury will each be confronted with the question: what really made them vote the way they did? And how do we talk to those who we profoundly disagree with, people we may never usually meet in our increacingly isolated social bubbles?

The play is in 2 acts with a 20 min interval. Please note that during the interval, there is nowhere nearby where drinks or food can be purchased, nor can food or drinks apart from water be consumed inside the venue.
