Event description

Description

KinkFest UK is an educational kink and fetish conference, now in its 6th year. 2019's event will be held Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 August 2019.

This year there will also be a pre-event munch/meet-and-greet on Friday 9th August evening from 6:30pm, in Flirt's Bar and Purgatory at Xtasia. Guests can pick up their wristbands at the munch or from 9am on Saturday morning at the main club.

There will be 20+ practical workshops and demonstrations, 14+ facilitated discussion sessions, and plenty of space for socialising and chilling out in the daytime. On Saturday night, there will be performances followed by a play party for which we have access to all of the amazing space and equipment at the venue, including the jacuzzi.

A buffet lunch is provided on Saturday and Sunday and is included in your ticket price.

KinkFest is a not-for-profit event and is run entirely by volunteers. The aim of the weekend is to provide a fun, relaxed and supportive environment in which kinksters of all flavours can come together to learn, practice, discuss and make friends.

We expect to have attendees of a variety of ages, genders, races, sexual- and kink-orientations and experience levels. In short, we welcome anyone over the age of 18 with an active and supportive interest in BDSM or fetish. If you don't pass as 18+ and we (one or more of the organisers) don't personally know you to be 18+, we may ask for ID stating your age -- please be prepared to produce such at the time you collect your pass. Contact us in advance if you're not sure.

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
We have a very strict 18+ only policy. We operate Challenge 25, so please bring your ID.

How does this Access Fund thing work?
The Access Fund was set up to assist those who would normally struggle to attend KinkFest due to financial restrictions. Last year we were, with your kind donations, able to assist a number of individuals with the cost of the tickets. This year, we hope to do likewise. If you are struggling with your ticket costs, please get in touch on Fetlife before 31 May 2019 to apply for an access place. If you can afford it, please consider adding a donation when you're ordering your ticket.

Will you be raising money for Backlash again this year?
Yes! Last year we managed to donate £1000 to Backlash, due to your generous donations and a slight surplus that we had from the previous event. This year, we have the option of donating monies at the point where you buy your ticket, and we may also run a collection at the event. We also hope to make a donation from any ticket surplus.

What should I wear?
There is no dress code in the day and we suggest you dress for comfort! Please dress to impress in the evening - corsetry, nudity, latex, leather, kilts, lingerie and other fetishwear are all encouraged. All black, clubwear and smart clothing are also acceptible. Please no streetwear, jeans or trainers, or overtly offensive dress.

Where can I stay?

There are two Premier Inns within reasonable distance. One is a one minute walk away

https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/wes…

and the other (brand new for 2019, as far as we can tell) is about 15 minutes away on foot (0.7 miles)

https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/wes…

There is NO LONGER a Park Inn about 15 minutes away on foot, as it now appears to be a health club.

There's also a Travel Lodge about 15 minutes away on foot:

Lastly, there are even a few rooms available at the venue itself, above Flirts bar!

Please note that we do not specifically endorse any of the listed places to stay -- they are here for reference and your convenience.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
If you are driving for both days, there are car parks within two minutes walk of the venue. Alternatively, if you are staying at the Premier Inn on High Street then it is about a one minute walk from the front door of the club to the hotel and there is parking for hotel guests. Other nearby hotels may have parking available, too, if you are staying there.

What should I bring?
Your fanciest fetishwear, your favourite toys, and a sense of curiousity and willingness to learn. Other than that, all the things you'd usually bring for a weekend away.

What can't I bring to the event?
Mobile phones and cameras cannot be taken past the venue's reception area. There is a FREE cloakroom with CCTV where they can be left. This is venue policy and one we agree is best for everyone's peace of mind. If you are "On Call", please contact us to make special arrangements. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. BY BUYING A TICKET YOU AGREE NOT TO BRING YOUR PHONE OR CAMERA INTO THE MAIN PART OF THE VENUE.

Do not bring illegal drugs or alcohol. Drinks may be purchased at the bar. We operate a zero tolerance policy on illegal drugs.

Do not bring in your own food from outside. Exceptions can be made here for those with very restrictive dietary needs or allergies. Just no McDonalds, Costa etc. please!

What are the rules?
You can view our Code of Conduct on our website, but you will also be asked to read and agree to it prior to purchasing your tickets. We take these rules very seriously and will remove anyone who breaches them. We operate on an explicitly consent-and-safety-first based ethos and expect our guests to do the same.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Email us at kinkfestuk@gmail.com, or message KinkFestUk on FetLife.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable? Can I update my registration information?
Yes. You may make changes to your details, or transfer your ticket to someone else, up to a week before the event. Please contact the organisers to do this.

Do I have to bring my printed/email ticket to the event?
Yes. This is a change in policy from previous years, so please remember to either print your ticket/email out or be prepared to show us it on your phone or other mobile device.

What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable, but can be transferred as described a couple of paragraphs above.

What about my data?
We take your privacy seriously and follow best practice in Data Protection. Your details will only be visible to the KF 2019 team and will be kept in a password-protected account. We promise to never reveal your details to any third parties for any reason unless required to do so by law.
