KINTSUGI HOPE - 2019 Honesty Over Silence Conference - Birmingham
Letting go of the "I am OK"

Honesty Over Silence is a day conference that seeks to opoen up conversations around topics that many find difficult, such as trusting in God when life is painful, dealing with anxiety and depression learning to look after ourselves, developing our character, and living with thankful hearts even in tough seasons. It will examine the strength in letting go of our need to be in control, as well as looking at how we can stop comparing ourselves to others and instead live authentically and honestly as we grow into the people God has created us to be.


Christy Wimber - Christy is an author, speaker and pastor who has travelled around the world teaching and encouraging the Church. She planted a Vineyard Church in 2006 and continues to travel, teaching on various subjects to equip the Church.

Patrick Regan OBE - Patrick Regan OBE is CEO & Co-Founder of Kintsugi Hope. He is Honorary Fellow of South Bank University for contribution to Peace, Justice and Wellbeing and the author of 5 books, the latest being Honesty over silence. Patrick lives in Essex and is married to Diane, they have 4 children.

Heather Churchill - Heather is employed by Waverley Abbey College (CWR) as their Lead Academic and BA (Hons) Counselling Programme leader. She has many years of experience as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Supervisor.

Erin Docherty - Erin is an award winning mental health nurse who has spent the last decade working in the NHS. She is currently a clinical lead nurse within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and is a proud trustee of Kintsugi Hope.

Simon Barrington - Simon founded and leads Forge Leadership Consultancy Ltd. He is the former CEO of Samaritan's Purse. Simon studied Global Leadership at Fuller Theological College, California. His new book is called Leading the Millenial Way.

Rosie McNeill - Rosie and her husband Andrew are the Senior Pastors of Birmingham Vineyard Church. They also serve as Associate National Directors of Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland. Rosie is passionate about the issues of mental and emotional health in pastors and churches.


Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The event is suitable for those 16 and over. Those with young babies can make use of the parent and baby room off the main auditorium. The event will be screened in this room so you won’t miss a thing if you use this facility.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Lifecentral Church is situated in Halesowen in the West Midlands. With easy access from the M5, and located in the heart of England, it is ideally placed for local and national events.

There is on-site car parking (including disabled parking spaces), along with paid parking within walking distance of the auditorium. Frequent buses from around the region stop at Halesowen Bus Station.


By car, the auditorium is less than ten minutes from Junction 3 of the M5 motorway. Parking is available at the Birmingham Street short stay car park or the Pool Road multi-storey short and long stay car park (there is limited on-site parking).


Leave the M5 at Junction 3, then at the roundabout take the exit onto the A456 (signposted Kidderminster)

At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A459 (signposted Dudley - also signposted Halesowen Town Centre)

Turn left onto Queensway A459 (signposted Halesowen Town Centre)

Turn right onto Pool Road

Turn right onto Great Cornbow

Turn first left

Turn right onto Little Cornbow - Lifecentral Church is located on the left


Halesowen Bus Station is a five minute walk from Lifecentral Church. Timetables are available at: http://nxbus.co.uk/west-midlands.

From Birmingham City Centre: The number 9 bus runs from Colmore Row to Halesowen Bus Station.

From Stourbridge: The number 9 bus runs from Stourbridge Bus Station in the town centre to Halesowen.


Birmingham New Street and Snow Hill are the nearest mainline railway stations. Timetables are available at: www.nationalrail.co.uk.

From Birmingham City Centre: Services are available from either New Street, Snow Hill or Moor Street to Stourbridge Junction (change here for the local bus service to Halesowen).

What can I bring into the event?

Nothing is required, however if you wish to take notes then a notebook and pen (or notes app on your phone). A bottle of water and your lunch may be a good idea. Your wallet/purse to purchase Kintsugi Hope and/or CWR resources (card and cash accepted).

Refunds accepted up to 7 days before the event.

Will refreshments be available?

Tea, coffee, squash, water and biscuits will be provided before the event, during breaks and lunch. Halesowen town centre is within walking distance where there are a variety of shops, pharmacies, cafés and restaurants, along with an HSBC bank.
