KIRAN SACHDEV IN CONCERT - BOLLYWOOD CLASSICS -WOMEN IN THE ARTS FESTIVAL
Event Information
About this event
KIRAN SACHDEKiran Sachdev is one of those rare personalities in music community whose zeal for excellence can be seen in the arts as well as the sciences.
Hailing from an artistically inclined family, her affair with music started at the tender age of 5 when her father Vikramjit Singh Sachdev introduced her to music. Her parents ensured that she got musically trained under the guidance of only knowledgeable music teachers or Gurus, and she always stood up to their expectations. She started out by performing Gurbani at the age of 6, even before very large gatherings, and went on to perform various music art forms on various national/international platforms.
Her training in Indian Music forms since an early age was later complemented by Western Classical Music Training from the Trinity College of London.
Her music journey was furthered beautifully through various accomplishments, trophies and awards at junctures like Zee TV SaReGaMaPa, Desh Ki Awaaz, Ghazal Sara, Malhar and Mood Indigo, to name a few. Although Kiran has maintained a high academic profile, that hasn’t stopped her from singing with A-List artistes including Ghazal King Jagjit singh ji, a Bollywood film duet with playback singer Javed Ali ji, a cover song by ZEE music with the current Bollywood Heartthrob Arijit Singh, live performances in India and Abroad especially UK and various countries of Europe. Her performance has always been lauded by the audience and that is what keeps her going and pushing the limits.
Her music spectrum ranges from the ghazal that she recorded in the foreign language Persian in the foreign land of Germany, to the 9 Indian languages which include Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Gujrati, Bhojpuri, Sindhi, Bangla, Rajasthani & Maithili. Although she speaks only Punjabi, Hindi and English, singing in all the other languages has resulted from her excellent capability of grasping the right accent and understanding the explanation and vision of the Composer.
Although she has a great inclination towards melodious Bollywood classics from the 1960-70–80 era and Ghazals, she hopes to contribute to Sufi, Fusion and Mainstream Punjabi music in some way. Being born into a Sikh family, her music and life values draw inspiration from the Gurmat Sangeet (Ragi comes from word ragas) and Gursikhi itself.
In recent years she has enthralled the audience on a global level. Kiran hopes to reach as many people across the world with the promotion and creation of genuine Music and Originality at her core.
