Event description

Description

Do you sometimes wonder how to make society more equal? How can we break down barriers between migrants and locals? Who is responsible for creating these changes? We're offering young people the chance to gain an insight into social integration, media portrayals of migrants and social policy making through FREE interactive workshops with expert speakers and the chance to understand how we can change society for the better!

Join expert speakers and other young people for a thought-provoking day workshop where you will hear from expert speakers who will share ideas, research and case studies:

  • Dr Roch Dunin-Wąsowicz of the LSE European Institute who will share his research on the experiences of Eastern Europeans in the UK.
  • Newham Councillor and citizenship expert Seyi Akiwowo who will explain the roles of local authorities and councillors, especially relating to integration, and how young people can be involved in this process.
  • Jamiesha Majevadia of the British Academy policy team who will share their work, including real examples, on social integration at the national level.

A free lunch will be provided and travel for those coming further that 6 miles will be reimbursed if you provide receipts.

This workshop is funded by Erasmus +
