About this Event

Virtual education for GPs and AHPs

Thursday 24th September 2020, 6.30 - 8pm

Join One Hatfield Hospital for a virtual educational session featuring leading Orthopaedic Consultants:

Mr Raj Thakrar, Consultant Knee and Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Minhal Chatoo, Consultant Knee Surgeon

Mr Chatoo, Consultant Knee Surgeon, treats patients of all age groups with knee problems ranging from sports injuries to arthritis. He has considerable experience in managing patients with arthritis of the knee, performing knee sparing procedures such as high tibial and distal femoral osteotomies with the aid of digital templating. He is currently the Knee Lead at East & North Herts NHS Trust and is responsible for setting up the Knee Osteotomy Unit there.

Mr Thakrar is a double-fellowship trained Consultant Knee and Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon. His practise delivers a comprehensive adult and paediatric knee service using the latest innovative evidence based technologies to deliver the highest quality of care to his patients. His sub specialty interest is young adult knee including ligament reconstruction surgery and osteotomy surgery

Together, they are highly experienced knee osteotomy surgeons. Between them they have carried out over 300 Knee Osteotomies over the past 4 years.  Typically, knee osteotomies are carried out on one bone. However, Mr Chatoo and Mr Thakrar also carry out complex double level osteotomies as combined cases when the deformity is more significant.

They are committed to research and development and over the past year have set up the East & North Herts Knee Osteotomy database with a view to document long term outcomes of Surgery.

A link to access the events you have registered for will be sent the day before. 1.5 CPD points will be awarded for this session.
