Youngwilders are bringing back the most pointlessly iconic collaboration of all time! This year, Youngwilders, The Knepp Wildland Foundation, and Flimsy are combining to build an outdoor shelter at Knepp's new Wild Future's campsite.
Join us for a hands-on building project located in the heart of Knepp, May 9th-11th :)
Who is this for: For young people aged 18-30 interested in nature and/or community building projects.
About The Wild Futures Site: The Wild Futures site acts as a hub for young people within the Knepp rewilding project. This site hosts a huge range of youth activities, including ecological field skills courses, camping weekends, and Youngwilders' annual Youth Rewilding Summit. Last year, Youngwilders facilitated building an outdoor shower block on the site, and this year we are going one step further!
What we're doing there: Guided by the Architectural collective Flimsy, we will be constructing an outdoor shelter on the site, made from reclaimed materials, which will act as a place for young people to gather, cook, and generally escape the elements when needed.
What to Expect:
Expect painting, hammering, drilling, sawing, digging, general DIY-ing. All safety equipment will be provided and there will be tasks for people from all abilities, no building experience is required!
We will also get to hang out in the heart of the Knepp Estate, and have some lunchtime tours lead by the amazing people at the Knepp Wildland Foundation.
You are welcome to come for the day, or to stay and camp across the weekend!
