Learn to knit with Knit Now's resident teacher, Debbie Tomkies! Enjoy three sessions learning all the knitting essentials. Debbie will teach you all you need to know to get started with your first knitting projects.
Based in her quiet, cosy studio in the centre of Altrincham, Debbie's relaxed, small classes make sure there's plenty of time for individual attention and you'll be working at a comfortable pace to suit you.
Sessions are on 3 consecutive Tuesdays from 6-8.30pm and the course fee is the total for all 3 sessions including materials.
During the course you'll make 3 small, fun projects, each one specifically designed to allow you to practice your skills as you learn.
No knitting skills are required - Debbie will be starting right at the beginning. Have some experience or returning to knitting? This course is also a great refresher.

- Casting on
- Knit
- Purl

- Cast off
- Finishing and seaming
- How to follow a knitting pattern
- Tension (gauge) and why it matters
- Tips and tricks for avoiding common mistakes (and how to fix them!)

Debbie is the resident technical knitting expert with Knit Now magazine and has been a designer and knitter for over 25 years so you'll be in good hands!
