ABOUT THE CLASS
Join Janet for a pattern reading session at Ardgay Hall on Weds, 1st October from 6-7pm (Highland Wool's Knit & Natter is on from 7pm, please feel free to join if you wish).
This class is the 3rd out of 4 wool craft sessions in partnership with The Hirsel and Highland Wool CiC.
Are you ready to turn those confusing abbreviations and charts into beautiful, handmade creations? This course is perfect for beginners who can cast on and create knit and purl stitches. Whether you’re crafting a scarf or a hat, this concise class will empower you to read and follow simple patterns with confidence.
What You’ll Learn:
- Decode common abbreviations and symbols used in patterns.
- Navigate written instructions and charts to execute stitches accurately.
- Recognise the importance of a tension square and know how to adjust your knitting to size.
- Start your next knitting journey independently, with clarity and creativity.
Knitting needles will be available to use, but if you want to take your work home to practice, please bring your own needles - ideally size between 4.5mm - 6mm. You can usually find very inexpensive knitting needles in charity shops.
If you don't have these, just let us know via the order form so we can provide you with some to use.
This workshop is funded by The National Lottery Awards for All.
