Event description

Description

Have you ever wanted to knit beautifully detailed colourwork? Well expand your repertoire and come on our Knitting with Colour workshop! This will teach you all you need to know about the art of Fair Isle. Tutor Graeme Knowles-Miller will show you how to hold and strand the yarns, tips for the perfect purl (including continental and Norwegian styles), joining new colours, and reading charts. After this lesson you'll be ready to face even the trickiest designs with confidence.

FAQs
Where is the event held?
The workshop will be held in our Chapel Allerton shop, at 180 Harrogate Road, Leeds, LS7 4NZ

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Chapel Allerton has a frequent bus service from Leeds city centre - catch the 2, 3, or 3A from opposite Kirkgate Market or 36 from the bus station. Ask for Chapel Allerton, there is a stop just after the junction with the Yorkshire Bank. If you are coming from Headingley you can catch the 91 bus from Grove Lane. Parking in front of the shop is free for an hour. There are nearby streets behind the shop with free parking that will be a 2-5min walk to the shop that you can park all day.

Is there disabled access?
There are a few steps to gain access to our shop, and some steps inside too. We need to know in advance if you have a problem with stairs. We will always try to be flexible and to accommodate your needs if we can, so give us as much notice as possible and we will try to make arrangements. If you have any access requirements please email workshops@baaramewe.co.uk

What do I need to bring to the event?
All materials will be provided for you.

What skill level is this workshop?
To make the most of this workshop you should be confident with basic knitting skills including knitting, purling and casting on and off. You will be knitting in the round but if you haven’t done this before, don’t worry, as Graeme will help you to get going.

What about lunch and refreshments?
Tea or coffee will be provided free of charge as part of the workshop.
You can either bring your own lunch with you or pop out to one of the local cafes or shops.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?
Yes you can transfer your ticket, but you need to re-register on Eventbrite - details on how to do this are here.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Printed or digital, either is fine.

What is the refund policy?
We offer a full refund on places up to 2 weeks before the workshop. If you're unable to make the event at the last minute, you can easily transfer to a different date. Details of how to do that are here.
