Wed 3 May 2017, 09:00 – 10:00 BST
The Knowledge Quarter is delighted to invite staff and friends from Knowledge Quarter organisations to the next in our series of private tours and views. It will be on this occasion hosted at the London Metropolitan Archives. You are invited to an exclusive morning curator tour of the Archive's new exhibit The Londoners: Portraits of a Working City.
Join London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) for a private view of their current exhibition The Londoners: Portraits of a Working City and come face to face with the people of London’s past. The collections at LMA contain an extraordinary range of photographs, prints and drawings of everyday people who have lived and working in the capital for the last 500 years. Portraits of Dickens and Brunel appear alongside many who are simply unknown, from a fifteenth century Alderman to a twentieth century trapeze artist.
The tour will be led by Senior Archivist Sharon Tuff, Sharon has worked as a senior archivist at London Metropolitan Archives since 2008 where her area of responsibility is the visual collections which includes prints, photographs and ephemera. She is also part of the team which researches and mounts exhibitions of which The Londoners is the latest.
