Event description

Description

Date and time: 20th and 21st of September 2016 (08:30 to 13:00 each each) attendees must ensure they are present for both mornings.

As part of its mission, the Knowledge Quarter is seeking to identify and support work that improves its local and sustainable environment. Through an independent public realm audit of the Knowledge Quarter area, it has identified two potential sites in Camden and Islington which would benefit from public realm improvements.

On September 20 and 21, the Knowledge Quarter will host a two-day public realm charrette to consider potential opportunities, design directions and re-imaginations of these areas. It aims to bring together a cross-disciplinary group of including local architects, designers, town planners, property developers, academics, local community leaders, local councils, KQ partners and members of the community.

The Knowledge Quarter (KQ) is a partnership of over 70 academic, cultural, research, scientific and media organisations located in a one-mile radius around King’s Cross, Euston Road and Bloomsbury. Partners include the British Museum, University of the Arts London, Google, Digital Catapult, Wellcome Trust, The Guardian and the British Library.

This event is part of ColLab Fest (19-23 September), a week of events sourced from Digital Catapult’s network of five centres, nine associates and numerous partners. It is an exciting programme of events exploring the strengths and nuances of the UK’s digital economy.
