As part of Creative Apprenticeships Week, Paul Marijetic, Head of Apprenticeships at Creative & Cultural Skills will discuss how easy it can be for businesses and organisations within the creative, digital and cultural sectors to take on an apprentice and to show that the size of an organisation is no barrier.
A quarter of employers in the creative and cultural industries say they are experiencing skills gaps and shortages in key areas. A disconnect between employers and the education sector and an increase in unpaid work that is unsustainable for anyone without private support is contributing to an overall picture that shows under-employment, unemployment and unfair access to the creative sectors.
Creative and Cultural Skills are leading the campaign to change recruitment culture to create fair access to the creative and cultural industries, providing accessible routes into the sector that will help to avoid losing a generation of creative talent.
This event is FREE, but places are limited so advance booking is recommended.
A complimentary light lunch will be served during the event.
