Event description
Join us for another fantastic Menopause Meet Up! A friendly & welcoming environment to listen, learn, chat & support each other.

About this event

The monthly Knutsford Menopause Meet Up is growing & is back for May.

Each month we have an amazing group of ladies that come together to learn, chat, share & support - & we go away feeling energised, listened to & positive.

This group is open to women of all ages but is especially for you if you are are 40+.

Nearly 50 women have attended these sessions since they started in January.

Come & join the community!

We don't just talk about the 'M' word...we talk about all aspects of health for great long-term wellness & wellbeing!

This month we are focusing on STRESS MANAGEMENT!

Many women experience increased stress levels at this time of life, whether because of the pressures of life and everything they are having to cope with or due to the menopause symptoms they are experiencing...or perhaps because of both!

  • What causes stress?
  • What impact does stress have on us as we go through the menopause transition?
  • Why do we need to be particularly careful of stress at this stage of life?
  • What can we do to better manage our stress levels to support our long-term health & wellness?

We'll chat about all this and more! And I'll answer whatever questions come up for you!

This month we will be joined by Jane Anderson, founder of Being Matters.

Jane will run a session focusing on mindfulness & its application to menopause. It will be a relaxed informal session giving you the chance to try a variety of mindfulness practices and have some actions that you can take away and apply in your daily life.

Jane is an expert in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) which is helpful in managing everyday stresses as well as anxiety and depression; she is also a qualified NLP practitioner and coach.

The natural menopause transition begins with the peri-menopause stage, which usually starts from mid to late 40's.

The earlier you learn about it, the better prepared you can be for a smoother journey!

Menopause impacts every aspect of our lives: personal life, relationships, working life, sleep, energy levels, & both our short-term and long-term health & wellness and so much more! And yet sadly there is a huge lack awareness, even amongst women themselves, about what to expect, how best to manage it, & importantly how to transition to the next stage of our lives with energy, passion & purpose.

I'm committed to helping to break down the stigma, taboo & embarrassment around menopause so that women feel less alone, isolated & invisible at this stage of life, which is why this group is so important to me.

We provide a safe & welcoming space for women to come along & just listen or join in the discussions, whilst learning more about what menopause is & how best to not just manage symptoms but to thrive in life.

I will be sharing my knowledge & expertise on how you can rebalance your life at this crucial stage & set yourself up for great long-term health & wellness, living a life with energy, value & purpose.

Your hosts:

The event is being hosted by Nikki Chamberlain & Val Burlison.

Nikki Chamberlain is a qualified Health & Wellness Coach, who specialises in supporting women in midlife to navigate the menopause journey & beyond. Nikki is currently on her own menopause journey, having quit her lifelong corporate career aged 50 due to the impact of her symptoms & having found the courage to re-invent herself & her life through her passion for supporting the health & wellness of all women.

Nikki said "I'm committed to normalising the conversation around menopause & helping to break down the stigma which still remains.

" I empower women to prioritise their health & wellness without guilt, at this time in life when it is really non-negotiable. I have a particular focus on mindset, encouraging women to recognise that this phase in life is an opportunity to thrive & that it's possible to embark on this exciting new chapter with energy, passion & purpose. I'm well-placed to support women on this journey through my own personal experiences & I love the fact the I have the chance to make a difference to the lives of awesome, strong & capable women.

"I'm also an endurance runner & a UK Athletics-qualified Coach in Running Fitness & am passionate about the physical, mental & emotional benefits that movement and exercise can bring to women in midlife & beyond."

Val Burlison is Community Development Officer at Cheshire East Council. Val said "After starting the menopause at 48, some 10 years ago, I very much felt I just had to 'get on with it’ which wasn’t easy at times. There just wasn't enough help & support to know how to manage things.

"I am so pleased to be able to support Nikki at this event and for women to have the opportunity to talk freely, realise they are not on their own & learn how to have a happier healthier future."

Spaces are limited so booking is essential via Eventbrite .
