The countdown to our flagship Kofi Annan memorial event has begun. We have just taken the decision to open up the additional seating area in the balcony and for the next two weeks only (until 22 May!), we are offering the chance to buy a limited number of balcony tickets for just £5!

Mr Annan played a major role in international affairs for almost half a century, becoming one of the world’s most celebrated diplomats. Working at the heart of the UN, including ten years as Secretary-General, he was at the helm grappling with some of the biggest crises of the 21st Century.

Mr Annan is well remembered for his contributions to international politics; for his tireless dedication to advocacy for peace and reform; and for his work on human rights and development.

We are delighted to be working with a number of partners to invite you to join us in remembering Mr Annan's life, his work and legacy.

One of Kofi Annan's biggest achievements was widening access to HIV/AIDS treatment for the world's poorest and addressing stigma surrounding the condition - to do this he worked with Sesame Street! Now we are very excited to bring Kami - the HIV-positive Muppet Kofi worked with - all the way to London to take part in this special event.

This event will take place in London’s prestigious Methodist Central Hall Westminster – where the first UN Secretary-General was appointed over 70 years ago. This event will take place at 6pm and will finish at 8pm. Doors will open at 5pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to secure their seats as they cannot be reserved.

Please note, this is a ticketed event. The price of your ticket helps to support UNA-UK’s charitable work. Tickets are allocated on a first-come first-served basis and tickets are strictly non-transferable. Admission will be possible only with a valid ticket and photo ID.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and an induction loop is available.

This event is being held as part of a series of events, including a conference co-hosted with Chatham House, to celebrate Kofi Annan's life and legacy. The series is generously supported by Open Society Foundations and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. We are grateful for the endorsement of the Kofi Annan Foundation.
