About this event
Bubbly, tangy, and endlessly customisable – kombucha has become a favourite drink for those who want something refreshing and good for the gut. In this relaxed and informative demo, you’ll learn exactly how to brew your own kombucha at home. We’ll cover everything from choosing your tea and sugar, to caring for your SCOBY (that’s the Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast that makes the magic happen), to bottling and flavouring your final brew.
You’ll see each step demonstrated in real time, so you’ll leave knowing exactly what to do – whether you want to make a classic, crisp kombucha or experiment with fruity and herbal blends. We’ll talk about the health benefits of fermented drinks, how to keep your brew safe and delicious, and the fun of flavour experimentation.
Alongside the demo, you’ll get to taste freshly brewed kombucha, ask plenty of questions, and take home your own SCOBY so you can start brewing right away. It’s a great introduction for absolute beginners, or a chance for home brewers to pick up new tips and tricks.
Accessibility Note: Please be aware that this venue is located upstairs and may not be accessible for wheelchair users. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are actively seeking funding to install a lift in the future.
