The director of My Korean Cinema and La Vie en Rose, Kim Hong-joon, will be coming to London to give a special talk at Birkbeck Institute for the Moving Image. Kim's My Korean Cinema series of essay films presented an in-depth and entertaining look at the history of Korean cinema, and he will continue in a similar vein as he speaks about a few of his ‘homage films’ in relation to the idea of the ‘essay film’.
Excerpts from the following five short homage films will be presented:
