Event description
This course, set at operational level aims to develop delegates’ confidence, understanding and ability to perform a command role.

About this Event

This Course has been developed to address the potential organisational command resilience impacts during incidents requiring a multi-agency response. It aims to develop delegates’ confidence, understanding and ability to perform a command role.

It seeks to bring together operational incident commanders and non-blue light managers to ensure an integrated and co-ordinated response to incidents within Kent.

This 1-day course has been tailored to the requirements of the Kent Resilience Forum and will include the following:

  • An introduction and explanation of each organisations response
  • Discussion surrounding Kent’s command and control structures
  • Explanation of the principles of JESIP
  • Guest speakers to support the learning
  • A 4-stage learning exercise

On completion of this course attendees will have gained an understanding and knowledge of the following:

1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of different agencies during the operational response phase of a major incident/civil emergency

2. Develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities within an operational co-ordinating group

3. Understand Tactical (Silver) requirements for their respective organisations

4. Implement and review their dedicated course of action/response

5. Gain an understanding of the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP)

6. Practice their learning during a 4-stage discussion exercise

This Course provides a solid foundation for delegates to continue multi-agency training within their organisation, and meets the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004
