Course aims and objectives

To introduce new/existing staff to Incident Liaison Officer roles and responsibilities at both tactical and operational levels.

On completion of this course attendees will have gained an understanding and knowledge of the following:

1. Process and procedures for Incident Liaison Officers.

2. Principles of multi-agency working (JESIP).

3. An understanding of other organisations’ requirements of an ILO.

Target audience

All staff within Local Authorities, Health, Voluntary and Private Sector agencies and Category 2 organisations who have a potential role in operational multi-agency response and tactical liaison within partners’ emergency centres.

Please note that attendees will need to attend a refresher course after three years.
