To instruct managers in the principles of Welfare Centre/evacuee management.

About this Event

Course aims and objectives

To instruct managers in the principles of Welfare Centre/evacuee management.

On completion of this course attendees will have gained an understanding and knowledge of the following:

1. The difference between a Survivor Reception and Welfare Centre.

2. The new role of the Administration Manager.

3. The Multi-agency environment of a Welfare Centre.

4. Associated staffing issues in particular the role of the Key Worker.

5. Evacuee concerns and how to address them.

Target audience

District Councils, Kent County Council, NHS and Key Voluntary Sector personnel with a potential role in the management of rest centres and survivor/evacuee needs.

Please note attendees will need to attend a refresher course after three years.

Attendees should ideally have completed the e-learning: Introduction to Emergency Planning or attended the Welfare Centre Training.
