Billboard-topping Nashville-based bluegrass songstress Kristy Cox, Australia’s biggest bluegrass & country music export, has been on quite a roll and, together with her touring band Grasstime, she is rolling right over the Atlantic to Europe in May 2025.
From a young age Kristy Cox has captured attention, with high radio play, frequent television appearances and as a lineup fixture at major festivals across Australia, Europe and the USA. Her powerful singing style and songwriting acumen has seen her awarded numerous industry accolades for her talent, both in the US and in her native Australia where she is a six-time Australian Country Music Awards Golden Guitar recipient for ‘Bluegrass Recording of the Year’, her latest in 2023 for her track ‘Good Morning Moon.’
Now a with the bluegrass-only label Billy Blue Records, Kristy released her latest album ‘Let it Burn’ in May 2024, which debuted at #1 on the Bluegrass Billboard Sales Chart, following her latest award-winning releases ‘No Headlights’ and ‘Shades of Blue.’ Having received industry-wide praise for her performance and songwriting capabilities, Kristy has been shortlisted by the International Bluegrass Music Association for their Emerging Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year Awards and was a finalist in the 2019 IBMA Momentum Awards for Vocalist of the Year. She was also a finalist in the 2024 SPBGMA Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year.
Having teamed up in 2022 for tour dates with Nashville-based 5-piece bluegrass ensemble Grasstime (Robbie Morris, lead guitar & vocals; Allan Sanders, banjo; Ellie Hakanson, fiddle & vocals; Tyler Griffith, bass; Jason Bailey, mandolin), a Kristy Cox & Grasstime show amalgamates Kristy’s youthful energy-infused brand of bluegrass with a mix of hard driving bluegrass interspersed with high, tight and soulful vocals and sweet multi-part harmonies. While no stranger to a European stage, Kristy is looking forward to her inaugural visit to Europe as Kristy Cox & Grasstime, a two-week-plus run from May 9-25, 2025.
