Overview

Find out how schools can contribute to a robust KS3 reading evaluation using Reading Plus.

We’re currently recruiting secondary schools and trusts to take part in a randomised evaluation of Reading Plus, focused on improving reading fluency in Key Stage 3.

To help leaders decide whether this is right for their school, we’re running a short, no-obligation information Zoom:

🗓 Tuesday 17 February4.00–4.30pm 💻 Online (Zoom)

The session will cover:

✔️ What participation involves (and what it doesn’t)

✔️ Time commitment for teachers and pupils

✔️ How the WhatWorked Teachers platform works

✔️ How we measure and report impact

The evaluation is designed to:

📘 Fit around normal KS3 English teaching

📊 Involve two middle ability Year 7 or Year 8 classes

⏱ Keep workload intentionally low

🤝 Generate meaningful, school-relevant evidence

If you’re a headteacher, trust leader, literacy lead or senior leader interested in strengthening KS3 reading provision — this 30-minute session is a good place to start.
