KSENOI: Exploring identity, heritage, and belonging
What does it mean to be Greek today? How is nationality defined within the shifting realities of migration and the complex history of the Greek diaspora?
The exhibition brings together artists who have felt uprooted from home — whether through living abroad or through the legacies of displacement that continue to shape their identities. Their works trace ancestral journeys and cultural inheritances, confronting the ambiguities of belonging. Can identity be rendered as a linear narrative? Or is it, instead, a constellation of fragments, continually rewritten?
At the core of the exhibition lies the knot — a form that embodies both chaos and connection, confusion and continuity. Tangled yet grounding, it binds experiences, trajectories, and cultural references, evoking memory and belonging while reminding us where we come from, where we belong, or once belonged.
Through painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, video, and installations, KSENOI opens a dialogue on origins, loss, and the meaning of “home.” It invites us to reflect on the threads that tie us to our roots and how, through the act of weaving and reweaving, identity itself is continually redefined.
This exhibition continues KSENOI PROJECTS’ mission to empower artists, foster community, and weave new connections through the transformative power of art.
