About this event
During this Keep the Faith Online Talk, Rev Alton Bell will share some insights about climate change - looking at its impact in Africa and the Caribbean.
Rev Bell will explore the issue through the lens of history, both past and present.
He'll look at enslavement, climate changes impact, the role of the church, and the struggle of poor communities across the world for racial equality as they seek to counter and lessen the effects of climate change on their environment.
He'll also touch on how Christians, and the Black church can support communities negatively impacted by climate change.
This Keep The Faith online talk is supported by Christian Aid.
As a faith-based international development agency, Christian Aid recognises that climate justice is racial justice—because black and brown communities, both in the UK and globally, are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.
The organisation has developed a range of resources to help churches engage with these issues and is committed to amplifying the voices of those most impacted.
