KTN: The "meta-verse", digital twins and the future of digital data
Event Information
About this event
Speaker: Tony Fish, Digital NED, Board Advisor, Pioneer, Polymath, MBA Alumnus and Entrepreneur in Residence of University of Bradford
We have all heard it "Data is the new something". That something being oil, money, currency, time, sand or sunshine and plenty more. However, whilst it sounds shiny, exciting and definitely big, have you thought about what it would mean if there was a new oil, a new currency, could create time or change the sun? We all know that we have traded something of our soul by not reading the terms, giving automatic consent, clicking "yes" and sharing something to gain "free" services - but because we cannot feel, touch or see the trade it appears to have no value.
Tony will unpack quantum risk created by data and why everything we have learnt and been taught is about to change. The sky is not blue, the grass is not green and the water is not wet in the digital world we are creating, and we need to talk about it rather than just finding out it is too late. If you can grasp that the climate is an externality and moves risk, then here is digital. It is on the same scale, it will change humanity and even Prince Charles took notes!
About Tony Fish
My focus now is the future of corporate governance, oversight reporting and how I become a better ancestor. Just entering year 30 of experience of digital boards in a data-led world. Yes 1991, created the first online electronic home catalogue shopping service, listed on OFEX 1993!
I thrive in complex, ground-breaking & uncertain environments; bringing proven judgement and decision-making skills with cross-sectorial experience. My track record of sense-making and foresight has stood the test of time. My enthusiasm and drive are contagious & inspiring. A pluralist, pioneer, maverick and (un)-intentional rule breaker. I have learnt to craft clear linear communication from complexity, to enable boards to make a judgement in our digital and data-driven world. Definitely neuro-diverse.
I have founded, co-founded, sold and listed many businesses but remain passionate about new ways of creating value which has the capability of scaling fast, are at an early stage and delivers value for many people.
In addition to speaking at over 300 events and conferences on data, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital trends and early-stage growth, I have written and published three books. I am a visiting Fellow at Henley Business School for entrepreneurship and innovation, Entrepreneur in Residence at University of Bradford School of Management, teach at London Business School and the London School of Economics in AI and Ethics and am an EC expert for Big Data.
