About our host

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Leicester, The Gresham Aparthotel is a glorious blend of heritage and contemporary luxury, inviting guests into an experience that truly feels like home, but elevated. Housed in a magnificent Victorian gem designed by Isaac Barradale in 1884, the building originally hosted Joseph Johnson’s locally beloved department store. Over time, it evolved, first into a unified architectural marvel by Fosbrooke and Bedingfield by 1926, and later into the iconic Fenwick store before closing its doors in 2017.

After an imaginative and careful £17 million refurbishment, the Gresham Aparthotel opened its doors in November 2021, now offering 121 stylish studios and apartments equipped with kitchenettes, elegant living areas, and luxurious en-suites. The transformation also introduced a lively on-site bar and restaurant, which offers contemporary dining serving both guests and the public. Breakfast is highly recommended! The Gresham also boasts a fitness suite, laundry facilities, and a rooftop terrace offering city glimpses.
