♦️Hurricane Irma appeal ♦️

This category 5 storm was one of the worst to hit Cuba in recent history. Tearing along 800 kilometres of the northern coast, and making its impact felt across the entire island. Coastal communities and Havana itself have been devastated by winds and flooding. Many are still without water and electricity as central power stations sustained major damage. 10 people so far are confirmed dead in Havana and possible more not yet found. Crops are destroyed and many are frantically trying to salvage whatever is possible.

Solidarity will be important over the coming months, the impact of the US blockade makes it more difficult for the country to recover.

All donations will be used for relief and recovery projects in Cuba. Donated items will be taken to Cuba over the next few weeks by friends visiting from here and given to people and local aid organisations we are in touch with.

♦️Useful items you may wish to donate♦️

batteries, medicines, vitamins, toiletries, clothes. If it's easier for you to contribute by giving some money, that's fine too. No sharp or heavy items please.

Thank you all and looking forward to seeing you on the 21st
