Kundalini class on the Second Body–the Negative Mind with Dr.Rosie Andrious
Event Information
About this Event
This week we will be concentrating on the Second Body which is known as the Negative Mind. Its role is very powerful and often misunderstood. It is the part of the brain which reacts negatively to everything it encounters. Its role is to preserve and protect us. The question for the Second Body is: ‘Can I calculate the danger in a situation?’ It calculates risk and finds potential pitfalls to keep us from harm. It is important that we train the Negative Mind and keep it healthily balanced, otherwise we can become too negative, too fearful.
The key words to the Second Body are ‘longing to belong’. Longing to belong is definitely a part of human existence and consciousness. You always want to join something, to be part of a group, to expand your identity.
If your Negative Mind is weak your longing to belong can cause you to get into inappropriate, self-destructive relationships or social situations because you are over-influenced by others; you aren't contained enough in your own centre.
If you feel as though you are stuck in a particular situation and are fearful of taking action, it may be that you are stagnating in protective Negative Mind. You feel too fearful to take a risk.
Another sign that you are stuck in the Negative Mind is that you calculate dangers but ignore them. This is when you know something isn’t right for you but you go ahead anyway. Perhaps in your ‘longing to belong’ you find yourself in unhealthy relationships or mingling with toxic groups.
This is where the technology of Kundalini Yoga can help us to balance our energetic bodies, subtly shifting our energies and moving us from feeling stuck in unhelpful situations into more holistic and healthy situations.
A balanced Negative Mind helps to bring our creative thoughts into action, providing a protected and nurtured space for these ideas to flourish.
I very much look forward to seeing you class.
