Living in Balance – through Balancing the Ten Spiritual Bodies

"If you understand that you are these Ten Spiritual Bodies, and you keep them in balance, the whole universe will be in balance with you"  - Yogi Bhajan

In this year’s winter retreat, we will explore a key facet of the teachings within Kundalini Yoga: the Ten Spiritual Bodies and how they affect our overall wellbeing.

Each body has specific gifts that manifest when strong and certain deficit tendencies that surface when weak. Your calibre is determined by the balance of your Ten Bodies. You can strengthen any of them by developing an ability to identify which body is out of balance and then practicing the appropriate technology to strengthen that body.

In order to understand how each of the Ten Bodies manifests when it is fully developed, we can also explore the specific human virtues perfectly embodied by each of the Ten Sikh Gurus and what they each bring to our own life, so we can live in an uplifted, elevated state of being.

Some of the questions we will explore during the retreat:

1st body – Soul Body – is my life a creative flow from my soul’s purpose?

2nd body – Negative Mind – what do I need to consider and are my needs being met?

3rd body – Positive Mind – do I affirm myself and am I open to all possibilities that life has to offer?

4th body – Neutral Mind – do I allow myself to perceive and act upon inner wisdom?

5th body – Physical Body – do I use my strengths and assets for the good of all?

6th body – Arcline – do I access my intuition and am I able to manifest my inspiration and goals?

7th body – Aura – do I feel security in universal love or do I rely on habits and familiarity?

8th body – Pranic Body – do I have enough energy to fulfil my inspiration and goals?

9th body – Subtle Body – am I subtle and sensitive; can I penetrate beyond superficiality?

10th body – Radiant Body – is my life an example of courage, royalty and creativity?

Over the weekend, you will be taken through dynamic Kundalini Yoga exercises and Kriyas, uplifting meditation, relaxation, mantra, meditation and movement, healthy eating, good company and country walks to allow your spirit to radiate. The retreat will be led by Inderpal Kaur and Angad Kaur, who are experienced and qualified Kundalini Yoga Teachers.

Please note - The Retreat is open to both beginners and advanced students of Kundalini Yoga, as you are encouraged to work at your own individual pace. Kundalini Yoga is a 'hands off' practice and the teachers will not adjust or push you into any yoga posture. Participants are welcome to bring any aids, cushions etc to make sitting on the floor comfortable. Kundalini Yoga is an inclusive practice and therefore chairs are available for those who may require them during the classes and participants are encouraged to join in in line with their own abilities. All are welcome!
