'Letting Go'

Identify and compassionately release the things that no longer serve our soul and plant new seeds and kick-start our intentions for a soul promoting 2018.

The theme of this year's Winter Retreat is 'letting go'. How can we release karmas and behaviour patterns that no longer serve us? Over the weekend, you will be taken through dynamic Kundalini Yoga exercises and Kriyas, uplifting meditation, relaxation, mantra, meditation and movement, healthy eating, good company and country walks to allow your spirit to radiate. The retreat will be led by Inderpal Kaur and Angad Kaur, who are experienced and qualified Kundalini Yoga Teachers.

The Winter Retreat will include:

  • Identifying what habits, patterns, beliefs and attachments we have that no longer serve our soul or general upliftment in life
  • Calling on the tools and techniques of Kundalini Yoga kriyas, meditations and mantras to compassionately let them go
  • Understanding sacrifice and initiating ourselves towards the liberated state of "Jiwan Mukta" - free of the illusion of separation from the One
  • Allowing the space for God to come through, releasing the ego's wants and desires which are often generated from a misplaced belief that we are lacking, when in fact, we need to let go more!
  • Surrendering to the One who is taking care of our routine - the source of our essential self, trusting that we are always given all that we need
  • Setting our intentions and planting new seeds for the coming year ahead, moving from soul-demoting habits to soul-promoting habits so 2018 is filled with the light of our soul.

Please note - The Retreat is open to both beginners and advanced students of Kundalini Yoga, as you are encouraged to work at your own individual pace. Kundalini Yoga is a 'hands off' practice and the teachers will not adjust or push you into any yoga posture. Participants are welcome to bring any aids, cushions etc to make sitting on the floor comfortable. Kundalini Yoga is an inclusive practice and therefore chairs are available for those who may require them during the classes and participants are encouraged to join in in line with their own abilities. All are welcome!

DAY ONE: Friday 24 November 2017

4:00pm – 5:00pm Arrival, registration, check-in and refreshments

5:00pm – 6:30pm Session One: Introduction to the Retreat theme with Angad Kaur. The focus and our purpose is:

¨ To learn, experience, share, laugh and cry

¨ Exploring this marvellous, magical, mysterious life

¨ Being truthful to our Self and others

- Identifying soul-promoting and soul-demoting habits and behaviours

6:30pm – Kirtan with Kundalini Yoga mantras in the Meditation Lounge or Free Time

7:00pm – Dinner

8:00pm – Workshop Session Two: Kundalini Yoga and Meditation with Inderpal Kaur

9.30pm – Kirtan Sohila (Bedtime prayer) in the Meditation Lounge

10.30pm – Lights Out

DAY TWO — Saturday 25 November 2017

5:25am - 6:30am – Kundalini Yoga Kriya

6:30am – 7:30am – Chanting of the Aquarian Mantars

7:30am – 8:30am – Kirtan with Shabds & Kundalini Yoga mantras in the Meditation Lounge

or Free Time / Relaxation / opportunity for a morning walk

9:00am - 10.00am - Breakfast

10am – 12:30pm - Workshop Session 3-: Kundalini Yoga and Meditation

12:30pm – 1:30pm – Lunch

1.30pm – 3:00pm – Walk in the Lickey Hills / free time

3:00pm – 5:00pm – Workshop Session 4: Kundalini Yoga and Meditation

5:00pm - 6:00pm - Rehras (evening prayer) and Kirtan in the Meditation Lounge OR relaxation / holistic treatment time.

7:30pm – 9:30pm – Workshop Session 5 - Kundalini Yoga and meditation

7:30am – 8:30am – Mantra meditation and kirtan programme in the Meditation Lounge or Free Time / Relaxation / opportunity for a walk

9:00am - 10:00am - Breakfast

10am – 12:00pm – Workshop Session 6: Kundalini Yoga and Meditation

12:00pm - 1:00pm - Lunch

1:00pm - 2:00pm - Walk in the Lickey Hills

2:00pm – 3:00pm - Closing Meditation and blessing, Long Time Sun and raffle/thanks

3:30pm—Close

4:00pm - Departure
