We’ve teamed up with our friends at Birmingham-based publisher THE EMMA PRESS to bring you an evening with London-based Malaysian author KWAN ANN TAN opening up on her speculative, haunting & highly experimental new novel THE WAITER, where you, the reader, find yourself in a not-too-distant future navigating your own way towards any of one of 12 possible endings.
The event will be chaired by writer & director of The Emma Press, JAMES TREVELYAN.
KWAN ANN TAN is originally from Malaysia but currently based in London. Her work has previously been published in The Offing, Joyland Magazine, and Sine Theta Magazine. She won the 2023 Bournemouth Writing competition and is an alumnus of the Tin House Winter Workshop. She lives in London.
This is one of our HOME events, placing our great city right at the heart & celebrating the depth & diversity of the Birmingham & West Midlands literary scene through talks, launches, symposiums & more.
