About this event

Join the midwives to learn all about the variations of birth; induction of labour, instrumental birth, caesarean section and common medical complications. We share information and resources to help you make informed choices around your birth.

This session is part of a series including Labour & Birth 1 - Physiology, please also book onto the first session to complete this series.

Birth partners are encouraged to join, and attendance is recommended in your third trimester, however you can attend whenever it feels right for you. The whole course aims to get you off to the best start as a new family.

  • A King's hospital ID is required upon registering
  • The meeting link will be shared via the Events page on the day

The Workshops

  • Participants will be asked to kindly mute for the main session
  • There will be opportunities to ask questions and time for open discussion
  • Camera ON is encouraged to get the most out of the session but not required for attendance

These online workshops are a free resources for service users booked with King's College Hospital and Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and are hosted by midwives, doctors, specialists and maternity support workers. In your first trimester, join the 'Welcome to King's' workshop to hear more about our services. Later in your pregnancy, join the Labour and Birth workshops, Baby Basics and Infant Feeding. For those with more specialist needs, we have Induction of Labour, Birth After Caesarean (if you've had a previous CS), Twins and Multiples, Birth With Confidence and more.
