Overview
A one day quality assured course for adults working with children & young people to help develop skills used in Forest School sessions.
Ladders and tree platforms for Forest School certificated course:
By the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Know how to risk assess trees and what wood to use
- Make a frame, using rope to fix the frame to the trees
- Make 2 forms of ladders: an 'A' frame wooden ladder & hanging ladder using marlin spike hitch
This training day runs from 10am-3pm in an outdoor setting.
This course is Quality assured by AIM.
What will I need for the course?
Please make sure you bring the following with you:
- A form of photo identification eg driving license or passport
- Packed lunch, travel mug and snacks
- Suitable outdoor clothing for the weather conditions (trousers, not shorts)
- Stout shoes or boots. Please do not wear sandals.
- A camera or camera phone can be useful for recording some of the activities
We will be provide:
- Tea and coffee
- All tools and equipment for the outdoor tasks
(N.B. For a variety of reasons we would ask you not to bring your own tools)
