Ladders and tree platforms for Forest School certificated course:

By the end of the course, the learner will be able to:

• Know how to risk assess trees and what wood to use
• Make a frame, using rope to fix the frame to the trees
• Make 2 forms of ladders:  an 'A' frame wooden ladder & hanging ladder using marlin spike hitch

This training day runs from 10am-3pm in an outdoor setting.

This course is Quality assured by AIM.

What will I need for the course?

Please make sure you bring the following with you:

• A form of photo identification eg driving license or passport
• Packed lunch, travel mug and snacks
• Suitable outdoor clothing for the weather conditions (trousers, not shorts)
• Stout shoes or boots. Please do not wear sandals.
• A camera  or camera phone can be useful for recording some of the activities

We will be provide:

• Tea and coffee
• All tools and equipment for the outdoor tasks
  (N.B. For a variety of reasons we would ask you not to bring your own tools)
