Ladders aims to help bridge the gap and remove barriers for people looking to enter employment in the creative industries. As well as equipping you with industry insight and technical skills through the Creative Courses, Ladders offers all learners the chance to boost their employability skills through Reducing the Skills Gap programme.
Reducing the Skills Gap is a pre-employability skills programme co-produced by employers and young people. This creative technique ensures the programme meets the demands and expectations of employers, but is combined with a fun and interactive delivery style that promises to keep you engaged.
The programme is split over three days and covers the 6 core themes employers said were valuable, and most commonly missing by young people looking for employment.
28/11/16 Day 1 – Communication and Teamwork
Communication and Teamwork are vital in any industry but are skills that can make you stand out from the crowd. Being able to communicating and building relationships internally and externally are much sought after skills. Learn how to utilise your strengths in an effective team and demonstrate strong communication skills through this interactive induction to the programme.
1/12/16 Day 2 – Time Management and Professionalism
Do ever end up with a never-ending list of tasks and things to do? Impending deadlines and juggling priorities? Learn about effective time management skills while coming to discuss what a professional persona looks like in your industry. Discover key behaviours and attitudes that will make you more employable and please all employers.
2/12/16 Day 3 – Confidence and Life experiences
Entering a new job and new industry is exciting but scary. Working out where you fit and why your skills and experience earn your place can often be hard. Explore the art of projecting confidence and how to translate your life experiences and in to employability skills that employers are looking for.
