Small group, friendly, non-judgemental walks for women looking to enjoy time together in the outdoors. These walks are led by an experienced wellbeing coach, ideal for women who want to expand their comfort zone and have an adventure in a safe and supportive environment.

From the village of Brighstone, the route climbs up from the village and through the pine trees of Grammars Common Wood, before crossing Strawberry Lane onto National Trust land. Resting at the megalithic Longstone, before climbing up and over Mottistone Down back to Strawberry Lane, a final climb to Brighstone Down follows, with stunning southerly views of the English Channel, before dropping down into the village of Brighstone once again.


Length of walk: 6 miles (approx 3.5 hours)

Type of Walk: Circular

Pace of Walk: Brisk - This walk will follow a brisk pace.

Walk grade: Fairly Strenuous - A challenging walk, suitable for fit walkers with some experience. Steep gradients, stiles and steps and uneven surfaces to be expected.

Mobility level: Walkers need to be reasonably agile and mobile. Not suitable for walkers with mobility impairment of any kind

Other:

Toilets: there are public toilets in the Warnes Lane car park which are free to use. There are no toilet facilities on the route, however, there are many secluded spots suitable for a wild wee if needed!

Parking: It is free to park in Warnes Lane car park.

Shops/Refreshments: Brighstone Village Stores is open until 7pm. The Three Bishops pub serves food from midday until 8pm.
