About this event

I am Henry Tapper, owner and skipper of Lady Lucy, I hate to see boats sitting day after day on their moorings, I share my boat with people who sign up on eventbrite. I don't charge to come on my boat but people are free to give donations (typically £10 + per person) or contribute other ways if they don't have money!

Day trips go as far as Windsor to the West and Sonning in the East. On Bank Holidays we may go as far as London or Oxford - sleeping overnight on the boat. The boat has its own galley, an electric flush toilet, shower and ding - thought mostly we picnic. In the summer you can swim off the side of the boat.

Lady Lucy was built from Mahogany in 1946 in Chichester by William Osborne and won the classic boat of the year in 2007. She has been restored three times by Peter Freebody and she is moored in the Mill Pond of the Freebody yard.

Crew are expected to be reasonably mobile and I ask for rubber shoes - otherwise there are no restrictions on age, gender, nationality and you can bring pets onto the boat. I ask that anyone joining the boat who has not been before, introduce themselves to me on henry@agewage.com or on 07785 377768.
