About this event

Lady Lucy is a 1946 Osborne Motor Cruiser , restored by its owner Henry Tapper and by the staff of Peter Freebody's boatyard in Hurley. Since 2006 she has been sailing the river and has been greatly enjoyed by thousands of people. The boat trips are free, contributions towards upkeep are encouraged!

This year's cruising starts later as the boat was damaged in a recent storm, a tree falling on her, she has been repaired and now has her toilet restored (hurrah!)

You can book to come on the boat yourself or with your friends, the boat can take 12 people (11 + skipper Henry Tapper). Where Henry doesn't know you, he will ask you can commit to the day to avoid no-shows!

The boat leaves at 10 am and you are asked to be at Freebodys at 9.30 am (there is parking in the boatyard). We typically get back at 6pm but this depends on traffic on the river and the wishes of the crew.

Please bring your won food and drink. Soft shoes (rubber soled please), there is sunbathing on the boats decks and seating for the sedate. The boat has beds, a shower and a kitchen. We usually have a picnic on the bank but may chose to eat aboard if it is wet.

This video is about boats and pensions - but we don't talk pensions on the boat!
